Čáhppesmuorji – Crowberry

Čáhppesmuorji means “crowberry” in Sámi. Crowberries grow abundantly along the Finnmark coast, and in my childhood home in Gjesvær the berries were used for juice, jelly and desserts. The deep purple of the crowberry, together with dusty pink and fresh green, inspired the colors of this design.

Čáhppesmuorji is worked from the bottom up with a circular yoke shaped with decreases. The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch and stranded colorwork.

Bust circumference: 91 (98) 105 (113) 120 (127) 135 cm
Gauge: 22 stitches and approximately 29 rounds = 10 cm
Needles: 3 mm and 3.5 mm
Yarn: Sol and Tinde by Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk
