About the design

Since adolescence my favorite music has been Latin American rock, especially Argentinian rock for its lyrics and poetry.
It’s no coincidence that this Lanas Rey Príncipe collection captivated me, as it was inspired by the music of Andrés Calamaro, an Argentinian singer-songwriter I’ve enjoyed listening to since childhood and who still appears on my playlist.
This shawl is inspired by the colors used in its knitting, which in turn were inspired by the pop-rock of a giant of Latin American music: Calamaro.
This shawl is constructed starting with the center panel, increasing from the point upwards and working a stranded colorwork pattern flat. Then, stitches are picked up along the edges of the central panel to knit the side sections separately and making decreases in the way. Finally, an i-cord border is worked around the entire edge of the piece.

Sizes: 1 size

Gauge: 23 sts and 29 rows = 10 cm, measured over stockinette stitch on 3.5 mm needles, after blocking.

Yarn:
MC: About 320 meters of fingering weight yarn.
CC1: About 100 meters of fingering weight yarn.
CC2: About 80 meters of fingering weight yarn.
CC3: About 80 meters of fingering weight yarn.
CC4: About 80 meters of fingering weight yarn.
Sample: Lanas Rey Príncipe . 100% superwash merino, fingering weight, 400 meters per 100g. 100g main skein and 20g mini skeins kit.

Needles: 3.5 mm circular needles with a cable of 80 cm. (Or the required needle size to obtain gauge).
Note: You can start with a smaller cable and change it as the shawl grows.

Notions: tapestry needle, mats and pins for blocking.

Sobre el diseño

Desde la adolescencia mi música favorita ha sido el rock latinoamericano, especialmente el argentino por sus letras y poesía.
No es casualidad que esta colección de Lanas Rey Príncipe me haya cautivado, ya que se inspiró en la música de Andrés Calamaro, un cantautor argentino que he disfrutado escuchar desde la infancia y que aún suena en mi play-list.
Este chal se inspira en los colores con que fue tejido, los cuales, a su vez, se inspiraron en el pop-rock de un gigante de la música latinoamericana: Calamaro.
Este chal se teje comenzando por el panel central, aumentando desde la punta hacia arriba y trabajando un patrón de jacquard en plano. Luego, se levantan puntos a lo largo de los bordes del panel para tejer las secciones laterales por separado, haciendo disminuciones en el proceso. Finalmente, se teje un borde de cordón alrededor de todo el perímetro de la pieza.

Agujas: Agujas circulares de 3.5 con un cable de 80 cm. (O el tamaño de aguja requerido para obtener la muestra).
Nota: puedes comenzar con un cable más pequeño e irlo cambiando a medida que el shawl crece.

Otros: Aguja de lana, mats y pines de bloqueo.
