Calendar Scarf
This versatile pattern gives you two versions, a fingering weight version and a thicker, shorter version that uses two yarns held together.
The download gives you two separate pattern files.
FINGERING WEIGHT VERSION
An asymmetric scarf that keeps you company throughout the year.
Each section represents one month of the year. You can choose to knit a section a month, or steam ahead and complete the scarf in a shorter time.
There are nine different stitch patterns within the shawl, with soothing garter stitch sections in between. You also have the option of adding crystal beads to some sections to add some sparkle!
This project is perfect for yarn stash, yarn clubs or 12-day advent calendars. Each monthly section is designed to be knit with a 20g mini-skein. It could also be knit with a variety of left overs, so let the stash diving begin!

4mm bicone crystal beads as required – see section on knitting with crystal beads.

CRYSTAL BEADS - Optional
Crystal beads can be added to months February, April, September and December.

September - beads x 49
December - beads x 58
Total crystal beads = 185
You can select your own crystal colours based on the yarn colours you will be using for the sections. They can either be contrasting or matching.
I have used tonal crystals that match the yarn colour for a more subtle effect.
THICKER VERSION - DK weight with mohair and paillettes yarn
This is an alternative version to the fingering weight pattern. This thicker weight scarf is achieved by holding two yarns together throughout.
You will only be knitting the months of January to April, so a much faster knit. The pailettes sequin yarn adds some sparkle to this version.
