Callida is a pattern especially designed to introduce the Mock Invisible Join, a new technique suitable for non-reversible joined-round projects.

The Mock Invisible Join has most of the advantages of an Invisible Join, with none of the cut ends. When used with sc, hdc, or dc rounds it makes an almost undetectable seam. (Almost.) :) Best of all, it perfectly preserves stitch pattern on rounds stitched in the back bar or back loop.

Just to give you an idea of how well the Mock Inv Join can blend in with the stitches around it, each photo at left shows a section of project that includes the seam.

Please Note: The Mock Invisible Join can be used only on projects worked Right Side facing at all times. (Each join creates small bump on the wrong side of the fabric.)

See my blog post (link below) for a detailed tutorial on the Mock Invisible Join, as well as the Callida Jar Cosy pattern. Pattern may be easily adapted to a crochet bowl or hat by changing the number of core and edging rounds.

Thanks for viewing, and happy crocheting!
