Wide linked treble crochet (a variation on traditional linked treble crochet) makes up the body of this lacy, drapey top with decorative shoulder/neck band and optional button loop closures at shoulder. The same decorative band is used to make the tie belt.

Top is easily customised for size. Although blocked to measurements, the weight of the fabric will elongate the top, giving a slim fit. For a drapier top, choose a size that is an inch or two greater than your bust measurement.

Choose a yarn with good drape for best results.

Special Note: If using button closure at shoulders, I strongly recommend some sort of support attached to the wrong side of the fabric under each button. (A tiny 1-round crochet circle, stitched tightly with a small hook, works well; you could also use a scrap of interfacing or some non-ravelling fabric.) This will help keep the buttons from stretching the shoulder out of shape. :)
