Make your own Cameroceras Cephalopod! This Nautilus relative lived during the Ordovician period, first appearing around 470 million years ago. These cephalopod could reach up to 20 feet in length and were formidable predators.

Pattern includes instructions for two versions: a multi-color Cameroceras using tapestry crochet, and a solid color Cameroceras with an optional striped shell. The shell, body, and tentacles are all crocheted in one piece - the only sewing is the hood and the optional eyelids and siphon! The 34 page pattern includes detailed step-by-step photos and clear written instructions to make an amigurumi-style Cameroceras. PLUS there is an 11 page printer-friendly TEXT ONLY version at the end of the pattern. This pattern has been fully tested by multiple testers. Includes yarn amounts and hook sizes to make an Cameroceras using worsted weight yarn.

Recommended for INTERMEDIATE SKILL LEVEL. This pattern uses basic crochet stitches and more complex stitches (detailed in the pattern glossary). The multi-colored version of the Cameroceras also uses colorwork/tapestry crochet. This pattern does not provide a tutorial for the basics of colorwork/tapestry crochet.

A finished Cameroceras made using Worsted Weight yarn is approximately 17” long from end of shell to tip of tentacles, 4” tall from bottom to top of shell, and 4” wide from eye to eye.

To make a Cameroceras using Worsted weight yarn you will need:
For multi-color:
Main Color (shell and body): 120 yds
Accent Color (shell): 34 yds
For solid color:
Main Color (shell): 112 yds
