Candy Floss Sweater
Introduction:
“Candy floss” is a classic drop down shoulder sweater that was inspired by a beautiful yarn - Puno. This sweater is perfect for Sundays and other relaxing days with the baby, when there is no rush and things flow slowly. The sweater has an oversized feel with significant positive ease and is separated in front and back at the bottom to accommodate a baby’s/toddler’s figure. It is knitted in stockinette stitch with fisherman’s rib for bottom part.
Construction:
The sweater is seamless and is knit top down. We start knitting with the neckline, forming a double-folded edge - knitted in the round in a 1k1p rib pattern. After that, the yoke construction begins with some back shaping using German short rows. Then the body is knitted and separated in back and front at the end to add more movement and an oversized feel. After the body is finished, the stitches are picked up for the sleeves and the sleeves are knitted top down in the round.
