The majesty and rhythm of Utah’s canyon country inspired this shawl. Strong horizontal lines and arches, all on a mammoth scale are reflected in this design.

The basic stitch pattern in this shawl is easy. In the 16 row repeat, nine rows are all knit or all purl, four rows are seed stitch and only three rows are a bit more complex. It takes a lot of words to explain, but the knitting is easy.

Seed beads adorn this shawl. The beads are placed with a small crochet hook; no bead stringing is required.

This pattern is being re-released with a second gauge and size of shawl. The new version is worked in Elemental Affects Coastal, now being dyed and sold by Jorstad Artisan Yarns.

Smaller Shawl: 50 inches at neck edge, 72 inches at bottom edge and 26 inches long.

Larger Shawl: 60 inches at neck edge, 86 inches at bottom edge and 29½ long.
