I have been knitting a long time, ever since I knit clothes for my Barbie doll. I like knitting that includes something new or different to keep me interested. I knit sweaters, lace, and accessories.

Since I retired from managing health and family services a few years ago, I finally have the time to publish my own patterns. My favorite designs start when I ask “I wonder if I can…”. Those are the patterns that add just a bit of intrigue to keep the knitting interesting.

I am the managing partner of BK Collective, three friends who write and publish the designs we like to knit. I manage layout, tech editing, publishing and finances. BK Collective also publishes patterns for some of our circle of knitting friends.

Often the designs we publish are worked in hand-dyed, hand-painted yarn created by Kerry Graber of Jorstad Creek Yarns from fleeces raised locally and commercially produced un-dyed yarns.

I provide tech editing and pattern support to designers outside BK Collective. In addition to making sure patterns are accurate and complete, I can also help with layout and charts for cables or lace. You can contact me at Jann@JannHopplerDesign.com to find out more.
