The Capilano socks are the perfect next step up from a basic vanilla sock! The wide ribbing through the leg and foot are simple enough to make the perfect portable project while being potato-chippy enough to fly off your needles.

Worked top-down, these socks are ribbed throughout, with twisted rib detailing for the cuff/heel/toe, a short row heel, and a wedge decrease toe.

Sizing
1 (2) 3 (4) 5 to fit 23 (27) 31 (35) 39 cm / 9 (10.5) 12 (13.7) 15 inch instep.

Gauge and Needles
19 stitches and 21 rows = 2 inches in 3x1 rib on 2.5 mm, 9in circular needles, gently blocked.
Note 1: although the pattern was designed with 9in circular needles, you are welcome to use your preferred sock method as long as you meet gauge.
Note 2: I do not use sock blockers; rather, I soak my finished objects, gently remove excess water, then lay onto a towel, smoothing and pinning stitches to desired shape.

Yarn and Yardage
50-100g (218-437 yds) fingering weight yarn.
Testers used between 46 - 86g for a pair of socks, so the yardage estimate provides wiggle room.
Please note that your yardage will vary depending on the length of the leg and foot you are knitting to. Most of the testers knit a mid-calf sock -- you may require additional yardage if you want taller socks.
Yarns listed above were used by test knitters, but you can use any fingering weight yarn that allows you to achieve gauge.
