Any sport weight yarn will work and you may be able to obtain gauge with a light DK or a heavy fingering, but be sure to obtain gauge and adjust needle size accordingly.

Needles and notions:
US 1.5 / 2.5 mm circular needles for the I-cord edges on 8” - 32” / 20 - 80 cm length cords.
US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles for the body on 24 - 32” / 60 - 80 cm length cords. Body is knit flat.
Use whichever needle sizes are needed to obtain gauge.
Other notions: tapestry needle, stitch markers, 5-6 ⅓” / 9 mm buttons, stitch holders for holding live stitches

Gauge: 24 sts x 31 rows = 4” / 10 cm in stockinette stitch on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles, worked flat and measured AFTER blocking

Techniques used: stockinette, picking up stitches, I-cord, sewing on buttons, backwards loop cast-on, knitted cast-on, german short rows
