WHAT IS THE CARRIE SCRUNCHIE?
The Carrie Scrunchie is knit in the round with two different colors to achieve a checkered design in stranded colorwork. It can be finished two ways:

• Crocheted Finish
• Seamed Finish

Once knit and cast off, it is turned inside out where the knitter can place their hair elastic of choice. (I recommend using a 1 or 2 thin hair elastics.) Then the scrunchie is folded over and finished with a seamed or crocheted edge.

MATERIALS
Yarn - 15 g of DK weight yarn made of cotton, wool, or acrylic in 2 color
Knitting Needles - 3.5 mm circular needles, 9 inches
Hair Tie - your preferred hair elastic. I prefer using a thin elastic and adjusting the number of elastics I use per scrunchie for fit
Yarn Needle
Crochet Hook - 3.5mm, you only need this if you are doing a crocheted finish
Opening Stitch Markers - 5+ stitch markers that can open and close
Scissors
