Sima has been studying with Shirley since 2002 and was excited by the challenge she posed with this design. She selected this cable stitch because of its complexity and designed a tailored, classic cowl. The pattern and finishing of this piece stretched her skills, as she integrated two additional stitch patterns after significant trial and error. The cabled cowl let her reach new levels of precision and intricacy, thanks to charts and written instructions from Joan Forgione. Shirley’s steady advice and guidance was unwavering, sharing her in-depth knowledge and expertise with me every step of the way.
