An asymmetrical shawl with an unusual construction, inspired by Catherine Morland of Northanger Abbey. Catherine is full of imagination, and obsessed with gothic novels (which often gets her in trouble), so I wanted to design a shawl that was simple, but with a dash of bonkers! Featuring a band of brioche, a pretty border of lace, and with dramatic picots for the gothic heroine in all of us.

I used a 50g skein from Phileas Yarns for the main body, and chose a couple of special mini skeins I had stashed away for the brioche and lace section. The colour options are endless, and I had great fun stash diving to find those special mini skeins to show off.
