Made of mostly post stitches, this quirky little scarf is pretty dense, but that also means it’s delightfully warm!

My inspiration was both simple (a leaf) and magical (the Cave of Lovers in which Tristan and Isolde stayed for a short time), so I started with the first part, imagining the scarf as an endless leaf, each vein branching from the off-center midrib, as if you’re looking at the leaf from an angle. There are teeth along the edges, which are made with a modified picot, and the three points, two on one end and a single point on the other, make it reminiscent of a triangle shawl when wrapped and pinned around your neck – but without the bulk!

I finished with the magical, though, adding elements from the Cave of Lovers: bronze (from which the door is made) wire and charms, crystal like their bed is made from, and circular elements in the charms and shawl pin like the shape of the cave and perhaps representative of their endless love. Ah… what a story! Adding the little charms on the points is totally optional, of course, but they do add a nice bit of weight as well as being a unique accent. And, of course, I love a good shawl pin!

Without those, though, this scarf becomes a simple leaf again, and is the perfect length to wrap once around your neck and throw over your shoulder for effortless style.
