We all have leftovers, and I happen to love them. Whether in the kitchen forming the basis of our next meal, or in the yarn basket prompting me to ask what I could make within the limitations, I love the feeling of making something out of what appeared to be nothing. If you either have or love leftovers, this ankle sock pattern offers many opportunities to use up small amounts of sock yarns and create something useful and beautiful from them.

These socks begin with a ridiculously simple triple roll cuff. There is no picking up stitches in this method, nor joining separate elements together. The heel flap and turn follow. Once the gusset decreases have been worked, a very straightforward helical stripe section follows, using one or more contrast yarns. Tips are given for how and where additional colours could be incorporated into the socks.

From now until midnight UK time on Wednesday 24th September, the code Leftovers will get you this, or one of my other patterns, for free.
