Show your pride, support, team spirit, or simply highlight your favorite colors with a cozy and cheerful beanie! This pattern includes directions for hats comes in three sizes, with 3 to 7 stripes to suit most pride flag designs. This pattern also comes with bonus instructions for making an optional matching pompom, including steps for making the pompom removable to suit your mood.

You will need 4 weight (worsted, aran) yarn in grey and in the appropriate colors of your choice: approximately 2 oz (145 yards / 132 meters) of grey, and 18 yards (16.5 meters) per stripe color. If a color is repeated in the strip pattern, you will need 18 yards (16.5 meters) for each time that color is repeated. Add 5 yards (4.5 meters) per color if you choose to make the pompom according to the bonus instructions.

The pompom included in this design is my favorite technique for making them. They will not pull out, and are completely washable.

Use rounds 1-4 in the pattern for your gauge swatch; you should achieve a gauge between 3 1/8 and 3/14 “ a(pproximately 8cm)
