About the Pattern

Celtic knot designs have long been featured in knitted garments and accessories. The gorgeous and elegant Celtic Luna Shawl depicts a Celtic knot moon and stars surrounded by a stylish Celtic border.

Double knit, the shawl is fully reversible, featuring opposite color schemes on each side. The color work design is chart only, not written instructions.

The shawl is worked from the bottom corner up to the top edge. The finished size of the shawl is approximately 58” (147 cm) in width from side to side and 22” (56 cm) in height from bottom corner to top edge.

Materials

• Size 2 US (2.75 mm) circular needles - 40” (102 cm) in length or longer is best.
• Approximately 800-850 yards (732-777 m) each of two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn.
• A cable needle that can hold a single stitch.
• Stitch markers
• Needle to weave in ends.

The yarn used in the sample photos is Cascade Yarns Heritage Sock in 5719 Violet Indigo and 5739 Sweet Lavender.
