Some things to know:

I consider this to be a pattern for the intermediate crocheter. It involves making the hat, eyes and 8 tentacles and then sewing them together.

You will need:
Yarn: I used Red Heart Soft worsted - 4
approx 256 yards of a main colour (1 ball)
approx 128 yards of an accent colour (half a ball)
approx 60 yards of white (for eyes)
5.0mm, 5.5mm and 3.75mm hooks
scraps of black felt (for pupil of eye)
black thread for sewing
tapestry needle
