The Chainmail Blouse is a sheer floaty delight featuring a light airy fabric for the body and sleeves, accented by a solid Peter Pan collar, and ribbing.

The blouse is worked from the top down with a provisional CO, and short row shaping for the shoulders. The body and sleeves are knit in the round. The collar is then picked up and knit flat, with a facing for a neat finish.

Gauge for the body: Fluffy Lace weight yarn (Shibui Silk Cloud)
20 stitches and 31 rows in 4” / 10 cm in Stamen Stitch on US 8 / 5 mm needles

Gauge for the collar and ribbing: Lace weight held double (Shibui Lunar)
24 stitches and 40 rows in 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles

Instead of holding a laceweight double for the collar and ribbing, you could use a fingering or sport weight yarn that gets you gauge instead.

Yarn for the body:
Shibui Silk Cloud 2, 2, 3, (3, 3, 3), {3, 4, 4} skeins (330 yards /
302 meters per 25 g)
OR 522, 618, 704, (780, 856, 943), {990, 1117, 1216} yards /
478, 565, 645, (714, 784, 863), {906, 1023, 1113} meters of a fluffy lace weight yarn.

Yarn for the collar and ribbing:
Shibui Lunar 1, 1, 1,
(1, 2, 2), {2, 2, 2}, skeins (401 yards /365 meters per 50 g) held double
OR 151, 163, 181, (194, 209, 223), {241, 253, 268} yards / 137, 149, 164, (177, 190, 203), {219, 231, 244} meters of fingering
weight yarn held alone.

To combat the additional costs fat knitters face, I’ve added a coupon code for knitters who are often excluded from pattern sizing. For knitters who typically knit size 6-9, all my garment patterns are 20% off with the coupon code ANTIFATTAX.
