This pattern offers both knit and crochet instructions for making chair socks. They’re both decorative and useful for protecting your floors from scratches. They would make a great housewarming present!

The knit version is nice and stretchy while the crochet version does not stretch as much. However the crochet version is a little thicker, so is better for protecting floors.

I would say I used less than half a skein of yarn to crochet 4 socks, so this pattern is great for using up partial skeins. I tried it with Cascade 220 and it worked really well, too.

Definitely make sure you check the fit of the sock before you make all 4. Every chair leg is a little different, so you may have to adjust the pattern to fit your chairs.
