Midsummer in our northern woods means evenings aglow with the delicate and enchanting light show of fireflies. Each night, the edges of woods begin to sparkle as the sun’s light fades below the horizon. No matter how old I get, these gentle evenings never lose their magic.✨

Inspired by our charming bioluminescent neighbors, the Chasing Fireflies socks feature a texture motif that mimics a firefly in flight.

They are worked cuff-down, and feature a flap and gusset heel. The cuff is worked in broken rib, to match the garter framing the heel flap. Separating the motif from the main sock, a row of slipped stitches runs down either side.

They are knit up in fingering weight yarn on size US 2/2.75 mm needles.
