Construction and Size
This cabled hat comes in three sizes: toddler, women’s, and men’s. One cable pattern is repeated three times and an additional cable pattern is worked once. It is knit in the round on circular needles in a worsted weight yarn. Pattern includes both written directions as well as a chart for the cable section.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skills needed: knitting in the round, cables, decreases (p2tog and k2tog)

US 8/5.0 mm 16” (40 cm) circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
US 8/5.0 mm double pointed needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)

About the Name
Geoffrey Chaucer (c. 1343-1400) is the medieval writer, the “Shakespeare” of his time (although he was writing before Shakespeare). His Canterbury Tales is one of the most important works in Middle English and contains all kinds of stories, from the ribald to the religious.
