The Checked Bomber Cardi came to life as an inspiration from many trending patchwork patterns. During the height of this trend, a friend encouraged me to design my own take on this style.

This cardigan is knitted flat in sections (1 back panel, 2 front panels, 2 sleeves) in a simple 1x1 rib that transitions to stockinette and intarsia to achieve this amazing colorwork pattern. The intarsia method can extend your range to use more colors and variety in the pattern. Be warned, there are many ends to weave in, but the result is so much fun! Once all sections have been knitted, they are seamed together. Finally, pick up stitches along the remaining raw edges and knit the collar in a 1x1 rib to complete the piece.
