I’m excited to share with you Chevlace Hat, my new hat design. The hat is constructed with a long double hem for extra warmth and a simple chevron lace/cable pattern stitch for an elegant look. The contrasting inside hem shows through the lace eyelets.
One skein of each color will be enough to make two hats by reversing the main and contrast color.
For the samples, I used Vulpine by Little Fox Yarn, a beautiful DK Superwash Merino, Cashmere and Nylon blend.

Sizes
S (M, L).

Finished Measurements
19 (21, 23) in 48 (53, 58) cm circumference, 9.5 in 24 cm length, unstretched.

Yarn
Vulpine DK by Little Fox Yarn, 80% Superwash Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon, 231 yards/100 grams, 1 skein in colorway Tarnish (gray) (MC), 1 skein in colorway Road to Morocco (teal) (CC). https://shop.littlefoxyarn.com/

Needles
16 in (40 cm) size US 3 (3.25 mm) and US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles, size US 5 (3.75 mm) DPN’s for decreasing rows.

Notions
1 stitch marker, crochet hook for crochet provisional cast on, waste yarn for provisional cast on, tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
Gauge: 20 stitches and 31 rows = 4 in (10 cm) on larger needles in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Construction Notes
The hat is worked in the round including a generously long folded over and double seamed brim. The chevron lace section is worked over the folded over section to show the contrast color of the inside brim.

I want to thank my testers Isabella-Elena, amaiku, canuckeh, kajacy for creating wonderful versions of my hat pattern and working so quickly. Make sure you check out their versions.

Additionally, I want to thank my tech editor Kristinamama Knits for polishing up my pattern.
