These socks are knit from the top down OR from the toe-up with a modified Eye of Partridge gusset heel (for top-down) or a Fleegle heel (for toe-up). The download of this pattern includes separate patterns for BOTH toe-up and top-down for your convenience.

The left and right socks are mirror images of each other. Instructions for the two socks differ at times to reflect the mirroring, and are noted as such in the pattern. When only one set of instructions is given, it applies to both socks.

Unless noted otherwise, slip all stitches purlwise.

The pattern is written for the Magic Loop technique, but any circular knitting method can be substituted. If using DPNs, assume that your Needles 1 and 2 are the Front Needle, and your Needles 3 and 4 are the Back Needle.

The Story:
In honor of Black Market Wool’s one-year anniversary, shop owner Rijel created a special colorway, and I designed a sock pattern that highlights the beauty of this amazing yarn. There are some fun features in these socks, including asymmetrical chevrons, a modified Eye of Partridge gusset heel and intentional ladders (because Rijel loves to knit socks but has yet to knit any without ladders).
