This is a pattern for a cute, quick, and easy starter pokemon-- Squirtle.

He’s part of my collection of chibi pokemon designs.

Using the recommended yarn and hook he will be about 3 1/2 to 4 inches tall, and consistent in size with my other pokemon amigurumi.

You’ll need a relatively small amount (not more than 30g) of Light blue, light yellow, dark brown, and white yarns, a 4mm crochet hook, some stuffing, plastic eyes (10mm is good), and a yarn needle.
