Chinar sweater is knitted top-down in modified drop shoulder construction in an all-over broken rib stitch pattern with crew neck shaped neckline, which can be modified to achieve a mock neck shaping. The shoulders are meant to have a gentle drop past the outer point of the shoulder. Both shoulder and sleeve cap shaping use German short rows to achieve the best fit around the shoulders and the armholes.

The sleeves feature a tapered shape until the cuff and a bit more dramatic balloon-shaped design near the ribbing at the end. Instructions for regular and tall sleeve lengths are provided in the pattern. Additionally, there are tips for adjusting the length beyond the two length options. The neckline and sleeves both feature double-knit details that add visual interest to the overall design.
