Schools reopen their doors and Chip the monster is thrilled for his first day. He is waiting for it, many years now and he’s excited that his time has finally come.

Kiki, on the other hand, Chip’s best friend and favorite backpack, feels quite the opposite. She never wanted to go there, she prefers to travel and see the world.

Fortunately Chip convinced Kiki about the wonderful things she will learn on the school and now she is ready to try it. I hope she loves it!

This cute little monster and his backpack are super easy to make and you can have them ready to be given as gift, for your kid’s first day at school or any other day!

This pattern is written in US terminology.

Materials: Fingering weight, cotton yarn in 5 colors and 2.5 mm crochet hook.

Chip the monster is approx. 10 cm (4 in) tall and Kiki the backpack is 4.5 cm (1.8 in) tall. When made with suggested yarn weight and hook size.
