NOTES
~ This jacket is worked from the bottom up in pieces. The back and fronts are worked as one piece to the underarms, then each front and back are worked separately back and forth in rows. Sleeves are worked in the round with the sleeve cap worked flat. Sleeve caps are sewn into armholes. Collar and front bands are worked using the double-knit technique.
~ Different body and sleeve lengths are given for standard and tall sizes (see page 9). Read over pattern before you begin, highlighting all numbers that apply to the size you will be making.
~ A button is used at the centre back of collar to help hold it in place and as a nice decorative element.
~ The buttonholes will be tight at first, but will loosen up with use. It’s recommended not to use buttons larger than 20mm / ¾ inches.
~ Additional note about the collar: After completing the sample and photographing it, it was decided that the collar was not quite deep enough to fold nicely. The pattern instructions have been adjusted to have a collar that is 13cm / 5 inches in depth, rather than 11.5cm / 4½ inches as in the pattern photo.
