Christmas Village
A knitting pattern for snow-topped houses that can be used as hanging, table or clip-on Christmas decorations, a Christmas tree topper, gift boxes or a reusable advent calendar.
The houses are knit flat then sewn together. Intarsia is used for the doors and windows and optional advent calendar numbers are worked in duplicate stitch.
Each house measures 8 x 8 x 7.5 cm (3 x 3 x 3 inches) and has a cardstock box inside it to give it structure. The outlines of the cardstock boxes can be printed then cut out with scissors, but if you don’t have a printer the dimensions are given so you can draw the boxes by hand.
The 21-page PDF includes written knitting pattern instructions, printable outlines of the cardstock pieces (and dimensions to copy if you don’t have a printer), charts for the optional duplicate stitch numbers, written instructions and 90 photos illustrating how to construct the cardstock boxes, the knitted pieces, how to attach them to each other and how to make the houses into hanging, tree topper or clip-on decorations.
