I love these chunky mitts, almost had them for my own, but someone bought them from me last week! They were knitted from a budget yarn, were really cosy and the thumb shaping made them feel like a second skin.

You get it! I love them. If you’re an experienced knitter you can have these ready to wear in a couple of evenings (if that!) and if you’re new to cabling, the thicker weight yarn is a perfect way to actually see the cable as you go.

This pattern is presented in English with instructions suitable, whether you live in the US or UK.

This is a printable, pdf download.

Who is this for?
This pattern is ideal for you if you’re new to cable knitting, they are a good learning tool for following shaping and cable pattern simultaneously. You will only use the beginner terms that first-timers use in cabling. And you’ll be knitting these flat and sewing a side seam - so don’t panic if you’re worried about cabling and knitting in the round.

Why do you need it?
Adding shaping to your cabling skills is perfect for then attempting larger cabled items. (and who wouldn’t want these mitts anyway?!)

Why buy from me?
I teach knitting and understand that knitting skills need to be taught and practiced within niches so they can become easier and more automatic.
