The Chunky Chain Cowl is a perfect project for a beginner knitter. If you can cast on, knit, purl and bind off then this is for you! It’s a quick and easy knit, but with a stylish finish, and with a few options to personalise the cowl to your own style. The pattern used is also reversible, so the cowl looks equally fabulous on both sides.

Yarn & Yardage
The pattern below uses Aran / Worsted weight yarn to create a chunky, cosy cowl.
However, if you’re feeling adventurous, this project can easily be adapted to suit any yarn you would like to use. You could even hold together more than one yarn to create an interesting marled effect. Just make sure you swatch first so you can adapt the pattern to the size you want your cowl to be.
Approximately 224g / 400yds are required to complete the cowl.

Gauge
Using an Aran / Worsted weight yarn was knitted in pattern using 4.5mm / US size 7 needles, with 20 sts over 25 rows creating a 4x4” square.
