I devised this simple pattern because I wanted a chunky scarf that had some visual interest but retained plenty of “squish”.

The pattern is adjustable for any size - just chain the length you want at the beginning. It would also suit a lighter yarn (8ply/DK), if you wanted a smaller scarf.
