It’s stocking stuffer time! This is a great project for leftover DK cottons from other projects.

The WaffleCats Hanging Towel Trio consists of one hanging towel in waffle stitch, one in sedge stitch, and one in cats stitch. These textured hanging towels will stay where they’re put, unlike those wandering tea towels which people whisk off the towel place, dry their hands on, then leave elsewhere. (Is it just my house that that happens? No?)


The cats towel needs at least two yarn colours for the cats to “pop”.

Dimensions of the towels are of course fully adjustable. The dimensions of the main sections of my towels are about 9x11 inches.

You will need a 1-inch button for each towel. (You can use a different button size; just adjust the buttonhole size).

Note that there are three versions of the pattern. The main PDF has photographs; the second has smaller type and is text only to save ink/paper when printing. The third is large print for people with visual impairment. If there is anything I can do to make the pattern more accessible for you, please don’t hesitate to ask.
