I made this blanket in 2015 to use up the colours from something else only to then have to buy more to finish it, which always seems to be the case. Anyway I’ve had quite a lot of interest in this blanket so have decided to write up the pattern. It’s written throughout in US crochet terms using double, half double and single stitches. It measures 42 inches square.

When I made it I did not keep any account of the amount of yarn used but working from its finish weight I would suggest having one of each colour with two of the background colours. Talking of colours I used Stylecraft Special DK in:

Graphite x 2 (described as background)
Spice
Boysenberry
Lime
Plum
Turquoise

You’ll have left overs where the pattern ends but it would be really easy to add a few more rounds in the same theme as I’ve started them. I use a 4mm hook throughout.

I’m not much of a person to tell others when to change colours or what colours to use, I like to think people put their own spin on my designs and truly make something individual. The circles are down to how you feel and please feel free to play with the border too.
