This is my first sock pattern having knitted socks for a number of years. I started as I think a lot of us do with the Winwick Mum basic sock pattern. I got to a stage that I wasn’t really following any pattern and just knitting socks so decided that I would write it down and have it tested so here we are, Sock One.

This is completed in West Yorkshire Spinners (the photograph uses Yarndale Hope colourway) on 2.5mm double pointed needles, although this can be knitted on small circulars.

The socks can be knitted for three different foot circumferences:

Small 7.5 inches
Medium 8.5 inches
Large 9.5 inches

I have also provided details of how many repeats of the pattern to complete on the foot for UK sizes 5 to 8 with tick off charts throughout the pattern to keep on course and highlight pattern rows and decrease rows.

The sock has a rounded toe with a Kitchener Stitch to bind off.

I used approximately 90 meters of yarn to complete a pair of size 7 socks but we all knit differently and leave varying lengths of ends when casting on/off so this may vary.

Whilst this pattern has been tested if there are any mistakes or errors please let me know.
