The very first time I constructed this pattern, I used it to relieve inner tension. There was something about crafting something for a newborn, helpless, and completely dependent on me that gave me purpose and uplifted my spirit.

After repeating this pattern myself for several times as gifts of client requests , I decided to document a clear set of instructions that are easy to memorize and whip up.

“The Cozy & Classy Baby Beanie” - This beginner-friendly pattern creates a soft, textured hat featuring a snug ribbed brim and a beautiful “Alps Stitch” body. The combination of front post stitches and standard double crochets creates a thick, pillowyfabric that is perfect for keeping a newborn warm.

This is also very simple and I was able to test it out myself.

The pattern instructions are for a newborn, however it also includes a chart with additional sizes and stitch count so you can make this hat at every stage of your infant’s growth.
