If you love knitting intricate cables, you’ll love knitting this scarf. This scarf if comprised of an intricate Celtic cable stitch. It is not for the “feint of heart “. The scarf is knitted with worsted weight yarn, requiring between 700 and 900 yards. The turtleneck section will keep you warm even on the coldest of day, while minimizing bulk around your neck. It is knit on a size #8 (U.S.) needle.

This would make an incredible holiday gift either for a person special to you…or for yourself.

If you prefer it as a traditional scarf, omit the center ribbing section and work straight until desired length.

The stitch is both charted and written out in this pattern.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling.)

There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged.

The sample was expertly pattern tested by Gay Fehr, who can be contacted at grf1956@ gmail.com. The yarn used in the sample is Shepherd Worsted by Lorna’s Laces, in colorway, Violet.
