The charm of the Cloud Roads Shawl lies in the way the lifted-over knot stitches progress beautifully to the two-color brioche star stitches and back again.

Knit from the top down and center out, this triangle-shaped shawl alternates between these stitches using a simple progression from the dark to the light to the combination of the two colors. The result is a simple, timeless beauty. I hope you enjoy it!

Pattern is provided in written form. Also provided are links to video demonstrations for the cast-on, bead placement, the lifted over knot stitches, and the brioche star stitches.

Finished Sizes (S|L):

Yarn
The shawl is knit in two colors using one strand of a mohair/silk lace weight yarn held together with one strand of a merino single-ply fingering weight yarn.

Any similar combination or any sport weight yarn that blocks well should work well for this pattern.

This is the recommended yardage/meterage to knit this shawl in a sport weight yarn. If you are holding a lace weight together with a fingering weight, please be sure to have the following yardage/meterage per weight for each color:

400 yards/366 meters | 550 yards/503 meters for the light color,
400 yards/366 meters | 640 yards/585 meters for the dark color

Sample was knit in the large size using one strand of Marianated
Yarns Aerie lace-weight base held together with one strand of
Marianated Yarns Quintessa fingering-weight base, with the Greige colorway for the light color, the Drizzly Day colorway for the dark color, and Miyuki Triangle beads in the silver-lined translucent clear (TR1101) color.

Aerie lace-weight base: 459 yards / 420 meters / 50 grams (72%
superkid mohair / 28% mulberry silk)
Quintessa fingering-weight base: 400 yards/ 366 meters/ 100 grams (100% superwash merino)

Optional Beads
Miyuki Triangle Beads Size 5/0, approximately 152 | 200 beads used. Add more or fewer beads as desired!
