Construction
The cardigan is made top-down, starting with neckline ribbing. Short rows are used to make a longer back for better fit. Raglan increases are worked on yoke, and raglan lines are made from simple undulating cables. The button band and buttonholes band both have the same cable as the raglan line and buttonholes are hidden in the cable. The cardigan has a close fit with 5 cm / 2 in of positive ease for the body.

The pattern is written in a “one size at the same time” format, giving all necessary information (yarn, measurements, stitch instructions, abbreviations, charts, and written instructions) in the beginning. The instructions for each size are provided individually.

One strand of fingering weight yarn (14 wpi) in solid or semisolid colors, 400 m /440 yds / 100 g and one strand of mohair, held together. Can be substituted for one strand of Sports weight yarn.
For body and sleeve length as shown on the schematic, allow approximately:

• 305, 330, 365, 380, 415 (455, 505, 550, 590, 650) 725, 770, 840, 915 m;
• 335, 360, 400, 415, 455 (500, 550, 600, 645, 710) 795, 840, 920, 1000 yds.

For ruffles allow additionally approximately:
