In this case, Cobble isn’t a stone, but a mashup of cable-and-bobble. Knit in a bulky yarn, it’s a three stitch cable rather than a four stitch, as four would make it too bulky when using a heavier yarn. Tahki Arlington was used in the samples. It’s soft enough for a baby and warm enough for a winter wind. The bobbles are visible but don’t “pop” off the hat too far. And, as with all hats I’ve designed in the last few months, there isn’t just one but TWO VIKKEL BRAIDS in the brim. I love them. How did I ever knit without them? All in all, its a subtle hat in soft colors. Faux fur pom poms (or as I call them, Tribbles) make for a modern look. Also available in a Slouch version named: “Cobble Slouch Cap”
