This listing is for the original Olann knitting pattern for the Colette Sweater, designed in collaboration with @mergegoods. This knitting pattern was created and written by Olann.

The Colette Sweater features a boxy silhouette, saddle shoulder, slight puff sleeve, long cuff, and folded neckline. It is knit in a Modified Rib Stitch, which creates a beautiful, vertical stitch design. The length is just a touch cropped, but it is easy to make changes to both the body and sleeve length, so it fits you just the way you like.

The Colette Sweater is an intermediate level knitting project. Knit from the top down, the seamless construction is easy to try on as you go. You begin by knitting back and forth to shape the crew neck. The sweater is then joined at the front neck, and you work in-the-round to complete the body. Once the body is complete, the sleeves are worked in rounds from the upper arm to the wrist, and the collar is picked up and knit from the neck.

Size Guide

Generously roomy, with up to 10 inches of positive ease, this sweater is designed for a boxy, cropped fit. The pattern is available in sizes 1 - 8 with finished body/bust measurements from 44.75 - 72 inches/113.5 - 183 cm. To begin, measure your bust and choose the size that gives you some extra inches for a roomy fit. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a neater look, you may wish to size down.

10 STS x 22 ROWS in Modified Rib Stitch on 10mm (US 15) needles = 4x4 inches/10x10 cm

Suggested Needles and Notions

16 inch/40 cm 10 mm (US size 15) circular needles.

16 inch/40 cm 6.5 mm (US size 10.5) circular needles.

32 inch/80 cm + 10 mm (US size 15) circular needles.

Optional: 6.5mm (US 10.5) DPNS.

Or alternative needle sizes to obtain gauge.

Magic Loop can be used on the collar, sleeves and cuffs for this design.

You’ll also need 8 stitch markers and a darning needle to complete this design. A row counter is an optional extra.

Yardage

Approximately 965 (1025, 1060, 1120) 1190 1265, 1315, 1385 yds/880 (940, 970, 1025) 1090 1155, 1205, 1265 m of Light to Medium weight yarn, plus double that yardage for Laceweight Mohair.

Suggested Materials

1 strand of Custom Woolen Mills 2-ply Mule Spinner yarn (4 oz/112 g = 216 yd/198 m), held together with 2 strands of Laceweight Mohair (1 oz/25 g = 230 yd/210 m).

Or 1 strand of a Light to Medium weight yarn (DK, Light Worsted, Worsted or Aran), held together with mohair or Suri Alpaca.

Note that yardage requirements will change if using only 1 strand of mohair or alpaca.
