This in our July Makers’ League Project!

The pattern was designed with our Shop Hop theme in mind. We were inspired by Decades, and our decade was 1930. We chose the theme “Black and White to Color”. Our plan was to highlight innovations from the 30’s and in the 30’s Technicolor film systems were becoming more available. Films like The Wizard of Oz began to make it popular.

The yarn is from our friends at Apple Fiber Studio in Washington State. We have assembled half skeins of their Opal base, a superwash Merino worsted weight, in a black tonal and a bright, fun multi.

The hat is simple to knit, with a few sections featuring a slipped stitch pattern. We start with the semi-solid and slowly change the color!
