If you plan to make a hat for a newborn, baby or a toddler, feel free to play with the Color Play hat pattern and create your own one of a kind hat for a lovely one of a kind kid.

The hat is made out of softest extrafine merino wool (also machine washable and dryable), that we call Delight. This yarn is available in 32 beautiful colors, and that gives you plenty of room to experiment with different color combinations.

If you are not a fan of stripes and color blocking, make the hat in solid color and add a big pompom on top. Babies usually look their cutest in a hat with a pompom.

You can also substitute pompom with tassels, add simple embroidery, crochet flower or a bow. So get creative and have lots of fun.

Another good thing about this pattern - it is available in 2 versions: for a seamless hat worked in the round and for a hat worked flat and seamed at the back.
