THE COLORFIELD WRAP …

… is a generously sized wrap that can be worn as a cozy winter scarf or draped over the shoulders as a light layer in spring and summer. The wrap is worked entirely in a two-colored garter stitch and is fully reversible. Large block stripes in a repeating color sequence give the piece a sense of rhythm.

Seen from a distance it seems like stripes in solid colors - moving closer, these stripes dissolve into horizontal lines of two different colors. These are formed by the chain of bumps created by changing color every row in garter stitch. This gives the fabric an unusual - almost woven - look, playing with its appearance depending on the viewer’s distance. The two layers of perception keep the garment interesting beyond the first glance.

The wrap is shaped as a wide, elongated trapezoid. Its lengthened form contrasts with the rhythm of the stripes, bringing the different color sections together into a cohesive whole. An I-cord edging is worked as you go, neatly framing the garment.

GERMAN

DER COLORFIELD WRAP …

… ist ein großes Tuch, das im Winter als kuscheliger Schal oder im Frühling und Sommer locker über die Schultern getragen werden kann. Es wird vollständig kraus rechts in zwei Farben gestrickt und ist komplett wendbar. Große Blockstreifen in wiederkehrender Farbfolge verleihen dem Design einen klaren Rhythmus.
Aus der Ferne als einfarbige Streifen wahrgenommene Flächen lösen sich beim näheren Betrachten in einzelne horizontale Linien aus je zwei verschiedenen Farben auf. Dieser Effekt entsteht durch die einfarbigen Streifen in kraus rechts, wodurch das Gestrick eine ungewöhnliche fast gewebte Struktur erhält, die je nach Betrachtungsabstand ihr Erscheinungsbild verändert und das Tuch auch über den ersten Blick hinaus spannend macht.
Das Tuch hat die Form eines breiten, langgezogenen Trapezes. Die Länge bildet den Gegenpol zu den querliegenden Streifen und vereint die Farbflächen zu einem stimmigen Gesamtbild. Als Randabschluss wird eine I-Cord-Kante direkt mitgestrickt, die das Tuch sauber einfasst.
