A charted pattern that is easy to memorize and utilizes 2 (or more) colors of DK weight yarn. Knit in the round from the bottom up, this stranded color-work hat works up quickly to fit a wide range of head sizes.

Make 1 increase using increase method of choice
Knit, purl, k2tog, s2pk2 (centered double decrease)
Stranded colorwork
Knitting in the round

Yarn:
One skein each in 2 different contrasting colors of
Premiere Yarns Basix DK, or as many colors as you desire.

Needles:
US size 3/3.25 mm 16” circular needles, US size
4/3.5mm 16” circular needles, US size 4 double pointed needles
or size needed to maintain gauge. Cable needle (or use one of
the double pointed needles), Stitch Marker.

Gauge:
23 stitches x 32 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch using US size 4 / 3.5mm needles

Sizes:
Small (small child head circumference 19-19.5” circumference x 7” height)
Medium (large child to teen head circumference 21-22” circumference by 7.5” height)
Large (average adult head circumference 22.5-24” circumference x 8.5” height)
