Such a fun, colorful blanket. This pieced star blanket uses 19 different bonbon colors, bordered by white. Each hexagon measures about 10.5”, but could be done with heavier weight yarn to produce an even larger blanket. Each hexagon is pieced together separately. The finished product is a great throw size, measuring 52” diameter at the widest cross-sections and about 31 inches on each side of the hexagon. You can use different yarn weights, colors, or hook sizes depending on what you have available and what size you want the finished product to be. You can also add or remove hexagons from the final product to create a larger bed spread or just use the seven central hexagons for a smaller baby blanket.

This could be a great project to use with all of your scrap yarn (you need about 50 yards per color). I would just make sure to use the same weight yarn for all of the stars to keep them a consistent size.

This is a really nice project to take on the go. You can bring a hook and few small pom-poms with you to just work on the individual stars without having to pack around an entire blanket.
