My motto this year- reduce as much as possible! I don’t want to let my stash to collect dust - I am going to use it! Colourful Life Jumper is crazy and obviously scrappy, as I used my stash from previous projects. Well begun is half done!
So, if you have some stash and you are looking to stock up on basic that you can wear and wear, try to knit this Colourful Life Jumper.
The Colourful Life Jumper is chic and super comfy. It has a close- fitting top, slightly flared to the bottom, high rolled neck and long flared bell sleeves. This jumper is knitted top down using Rico Design Superba Cotton Stretch Print superwash fine and soft cotton and wool blend: a colour mix of red, purple, green and blue shades. Also, I used 4 colours of Alize Cashmira: green, blue, red and yellow. Use your stash and I hope you will get even better result.
For this top down, seamless jumper you begin with the neck. As this jumper is designed with a turtleneck neckline, it is very easy to start.
The big advantage of working top down is that you can adjust the length of the sleeves and jumper length to suit your needs. The knitting pattern is very easy to follow.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• 2 x 100g balls (800m or 875yds) using Rico Design Superba Cotton Stretch PRINT Superwash 002 colour yarn.
• 150g (450m or 492yds) Alize Cashmira 14 colour yarn (yellow).
• 1 x 100g ball (300m or 328yds) Alize Cashmira 56 colour yarn (red).
• 50g (150m or 164yds) Alize Cashmira 17colour yarn (blue).
• 50g (150m or 164yds) Alize Cashmira 233 colour yarn (green).
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x length 50cm (US 4).
• 1 Circular needle 3.50mm x length 100 cm (US 4).
• 1 Tapestry needle.
• 8 Stitch Markers.
• 2 Stitch holders.
NB Needle size is only a guide- if you get too many stitches on 10cm, take a larger needle size. If you get too few stitches on 10cm, take a smaller needle size.
ACTUAL MEASUREMENTS:
One size: S/M (Rib pattern is stretchy).
Jumper length (from top of the shoulders)- 52cm (20.5ins).
Jumper flat width (just below armhole)- 32cm (not stretched) - 40cm (stretched)/ (12.6 - 15.8ins).
Sleeve length (from top of shoulders)- 68cm (26.8ins).
Sleeve flat width (just below armhole)- 12-15cm (4.7 - 6ins).
