These socks feature an eye-catching, travelling rib motif which mimics the look of cables but is achieved by only working simple, strategically placed increases/decreases.

They are inspired by my previous design, the Coral Reef Wrap that can be found here:
I have also designed a matching scarf and a hat:

The socks are worked cuff-down in the round using the magic-loop method.

This pattern was created in collaboration with Malabrigo Yarn and I had the great pleasure of working with their Ultimate Sock yarn for my sample.

I hope you enjoy the pattern!

One size, 64 sts.
20 cm / 8“ finished leg circumference, to fit with slight negative ease.
Leg and foot length are adjustable.

Designed for fingering weight sock yarn.
Yarn used for sample: Malabrigo Yarn Ultimate Sock (fingering weight, 75% Superwash Merino, 25% Nylon, 100 g = 385 m / 420 yds), 1 skein in colourway Caramel.

Gauge: 30 sts x 44 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ in stockinette stitch, 32 sts x 44 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ in rib stitch pattern after washing and gentle blocking.

Needles: 2.5 mm / US 1.5 needles for knitting in the round with magic-loop method (circular needles at least 80 cm / 32“ long), or size to obtain gauge.

This pattern has been professionally tech-edited and well testknitted. Thanks so much to my wonderful helpers!
